Stockyard wins AWA Gold Medal 2013

Stockyard Beef has been awarded a Gold medal in the 2nd Annual Australian Wagyu Association Branded Beef Competition for the second consecutive year.  Stockyard grain fed beef is produced at the award winning Kerwee feedlot, located at Jondaryan on the Darling Downs in Queensland.  First established in 1973, Stockyard supplies high quality grain fed beef within Australia and to a large number of international markets, including the Middle East and Asia. The prize winning piece came from Stockyard’s Crossbred Wagyu F4 animal which has been fed for 400 days on a nutritious ration of steam flaked grain, molasses, silage, vitamins and minerals and graded with a marbling score of 9, the highest grade offered in Australia. An independant panel of eight expert judges assessed the entries using a combination of visual appearance and the usual tenderness, juiciness, flavour and overall liking eating characteristics. Stockyard’s Chief Executive Officer, Lachie Hart, said the award was a clear recognition of the attention to detail at all facets of the supply chain by the production team, ensuring the highest quality levels are consistently maintained throughout the year and from one year to the next. Standing testament to Stockyard beef’s consistent performance is an unrivalled record of over 27 awards for its beef in the past 7 years. Stockyard truly is Australia’s most awarded branded beef.
