Gold for Stockyard Black Stockyard’s Wagyu Black label secured a Gold medal at the awards in the Wagyu Class AUS-MEAT Marble Score 7+ with the highest total 95.3 across all classes which resulted in the exhibit being awarded Grand Champion Branded Beef of Show. Stockyard Black is heralded for its exceptional marbling and flavour profile, with judges commenting it has “flavours of soft buttery caramel, cereal and cashew nut”. Grand Champions six times over After facing the scrutiny of 10 expert judges and with the highest score across the entire awards Stockyard Black beat 42 other entrants from across Australia to be crowned Grand Champion Branded Beef of Show. It is no fluke, that the brand has won this award six times in a row now. Stockyard’s attitude to its production is based on considered and consistent quality. They seek perfection in all aspects of their supply chain and meticulous about the wellbeing of their animals – ensuring they are bred, grazed and finished in an environment completely suited to their needs. But that’s not to say that it’s still not a challenge to win. Partnerships in their supply chain and innovation in production means the business continues to go from strength to strength. Australia’s Best Steak this year was bred and raised by Darren and Melanie Hamblin from Strathdale Wagyu, Sarina Qld, and finished at Stockyard’s Kerwee Feedlot. A great example of a collaborative supply chain producing Australia’s finest beef. These awards are an indication and recognition that they are doing something right. Executive Director and General Manager of Sales and Marketing, David Clark accepted the awards and recognised the awards come after another year of challenges. David said, “Six in a row shows not only can we produce high quality beef, but we can do it consistently. This is recognition of our team’s effort from breeding and backgrounding through feedlotting and processing. Our customers can be safe in the knowledge that we serve some of the finest beef in the world.” Stockyard’s product offerings across our Wagyu and Angus programs continue to be recognised by independent judges as premium Australian grain fed beef of exceptional quality and consistency.
