Gold medal secured for Stockyard Gold

Stockyard Gold has once again claimed the top award for the Open Class at the Royal Queensland Branded Beef Competition for the second year in a row.  Results were announced on Friday 17 May at an event that showcased Australia’s finest producers across dairy, wine, beef, lamb and beef.

Stockyard Gold was judged on five criteria including appearance (raw), tenderness, flavour, juiciness and overall liking. The winning product scored a total of 89.3 (from a possible 100), almost 8 points clear of the next best entry in the Open Class.

This medal adds to a long list of gold medals for the Stockyard Gold product. The brand won Gold at the Perth Royal Food Awards last year, and Gold and champion medals at the Royal Sydney Fine Food Awards.

Since launching Stockyard Gold way back in 1996, the Stockyard Beef team have spent almost 30 years honing their craft in the pursuit of ‘consistently exceptional’. Known as an everyday indulgence, Stockyard Gold blurs the line between weeknight and special occasions. Cattle fed under this level are fed a natural grain ration for 200 days, a ration free from GMO-feedstuff and antibiotics. This beef is renowned for its balanced flavour profile.

David Clark, General Manager of Sales at Stockyard Beef, expressed his excitement for the company’s continued success in the competition. “It’s such a privilege to be recognized so highly in the Royal Queensland Branded Beef Awards Winning the grand championship for the seventh year is an incredible achievement for our team and a testament to the consistency of our care and craft,” said Clark. “We are thrilled to have our commitment to quality recognised once again and it reconfirms that our customers are serving the best beef in Australia.”

The prestigious Royal Queensland Award, previously the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show, held annually in Brisbane, recognises the nation’s finest produce and producers.

Stockyard breed, raise and feed premium grain-fed Wagyu and Angus cattle from their properties located at Jondaryan, on the famous Darling Downs and at Glen Innes, on the lush green pastures of the Northern Tablelands in New South Wales and in Yea, Victoria. Still 100% owned by the Hart family, Stockyard has been dedicated to bringing people together over outstanding beef since its inception in 1958.

Stockyard Beef is dedicated to producing premium quality beef through ethical and sustainable practices, and this award highlights their commitment to excellence in every aspect of their business. Stockyard branded beef can be found in award winning restaurants, leading hotels and amongst family and friends here in Australia and in over 18 international markets.
